Alan Crawford
Alan graduated from The Arts Educational College, Chiswick, London in 2002, with a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Musical Theatre. Since arriving in Australia, he has been involved in many facets of theatre, from teaching with Urban Myth Theatre group, to playing Fletcher Christian in ABC Radio Adelaide’s 14-part eponymous series. He previously worked with Dave Simms on Out in the Open for Mixed Salad Productions in 2010.
His extensive European experience includes: playing Cousin Kevin in the UK tour of Tommy The Musical; movement director and chorus member, The Magic Flute and La Boheme for the Glyndebourne International Opera Company; lead role of Johnny in Times UP at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London; role of Mr Tumnus, Dance Captain & Movement Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe; director of Cinderella and lead vocalist of Cirque De Ballet’s Dreamcatcher both for Openwide International’s European tours.
His other more esoteric career highlights include: performing a song in Gaelic for H.R.H Prince Charles at the RSC; choreographing and performing for H.R.H The Queen on her Golden Jubilee; and performing at Madison Square Gardens, New York, in the company of the Harlem Boys Choir, Bon Jovi and Mohammed Ali!
